BIO
Owen Pirch is an up-and-coming American saxophonist, bandleader, and composer. Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Owen began playing the saxophone at 13. Since then he has been evolving his sound on several different instruments including alto, tenor, soprano, and bari saxophones, flute, and piano. Early in his musical journey he was recognized through his acceptance in the KC-MO District #3 All-District Jazz Band, and Missouri All-State Jazz Band. As a performer Owen has played at the Coleman Hawkins Festival, the Lee’s Summit Jazz Festival, the annual Missouri Music Educators Association conference, the Pitt State Jazz Festival, and more. He has been a part of many groups including the Wildcat Jazz Ensemble, the 18th St. Combo, All-District/State ensembles, and the Columbia Jazz Orchestra. Currently, Owen lives in Columbia, Missouri, and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia while booking live events throughout Missouri. Exploring all facets of the musical world, Owen is most capable in the genres of Jazz, Blues, and RnB, but is deeply passionate about his craft and expanding his repertoire. You can find him at a local jam session or teaching private lessons in the Columbia-Missouri area.
